GENERAL QUESTIONS
Yoga will absolutely improve the quality of your life in a variety of ways! Everyone wants to move better, feel better, and live better. If you’re looking for an accessible movement practice that still helps you to become stronger and improve mobility as you move forward in life then you should begin exploring your yoga practice. At Yoga Dragon, our classes will focus on three main aspects of the practice:
1. Functional Movement Patterns - Improve strength, flexibility, and awareness through creative sequences that target connective tissues throughout your entire body. Strengthen muscles and tissues around your joints, improve bone density, and enhace blood circulation as you age. It's important! Use it or lose it!
2. Intentional Breathing - Tap into the benefits of deep, intentional breathing to calm down your nervous system and enhance oxygenization at a cellular level. Use your slow breathing practice to recondition, relax, and release build up stress and tension from your connective tissues. Keep in mind, as the breath goes, the mind follows.
3. Meditative Mindfulness - Experience the beautiful moments of mindfulness associated with the practice of yoga. Learn how to use your mind to reject what doesn’t need to be there and accept thoughts into your mind that promote strength, peace, and healing.
Yoga is a practice that has stood the test of time as a healthy way to improve physical and mental health. The popularity of this practice is booming and for good reason. Health equals wealth and it’s time to start experiencing the benefits of this practice for yourself.
Please be aware that some classes at Yoga Dragon will be more physically demanding than others. You can view our Class Type descriptions HERE.
First, ask yourself what level of physical intensity you are seeking. We have a variety of beginner friendly options you might explore. If you are someone with limited mobility but still want a class where you are moving your body in a way that promotes healthy movement patterns and improved circulation then we would strongly encourage starting with a Gentle Yoga class.
If you are looking for a slower paced class where you can still experience deep stretches and opportunities to use muscles to hold different postures then try a Slow Flow or Hatha class. Our Beginner Yoga classes are more instructional so you will gain a deeper understanding of the practice but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are easier or gentle.
We pick up the pace in our Flow style classes and move through more creative sequencing and challenging postures. Beginners are encouraged to join our Flow classes if they are ready to have fun and put in some work.
So what class do you feel like starting with? Gentle, Hatha, Beginner, or one of our Flow classes? You can click HERE to view our schedule page.
We offer a wide variety of classes between both studio locations. We have heated and non-heated classes. We have gentle and power classes. There’s classes where you move fast and there’s classes where you move slow. We offer classes as early as 5:30am and as late as 7pm throughout the week.
If there’s a particular class style or class time you would like added to our schedule please send an email to steve@yogadragonhtx.com. We appreciate all feedback and suggestions.
Absolutely and you should because improved range of motion in your joints means stronger, more versatile connective tissues in your body! Physical and mental health are very connected so take time to practice with us and you will feel better.
Trust that if you join our New Student Special, we will help you find the practice that suits you best, offered by teachers who have a deep knowledge and understanding of how to adapt a yoga practice to every body type.
Keep in mind, the phrase “I’m not flexible enough to do yoga” is like saying “I’m too dirty to take a shower”. A wise man once said, " what's in the way, is the way". This is your sign to start prioritizing your health with a practice that has proven results. Click HERE to see our purchase options.
Yes, please. You can reserve a space by registering for class online or on the Yoga Dragon phone app. It’s best to register online because some of our classes do reach capacity and we don't want to turn someone away because they showed up without pre-registering for class and now there’s no room left. Please pre-register for class and we will do our best to get you in the room.

We recommend using a non-slip yoga mat for your hot yoga practice that way you have a solid foundation as sweat drips down onto your mat. If your yoga mat isn't a non-slip mat then you could also place a full length towel or yoga towel over your mat.
Fortunately, there is plenty of parking in front of both studio locations.
Friendly reminder, please lock your vehicles and keep valuables out of sight before entering the studio. We rarely have issues with cars being broken into but it’s always better to be safe.
Keep in mind, both studio doors remain locked while class is in session so you can always bring your belongings into the studio with you.
WHAT TO BRING
`Wear clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear or loose-fitting sweats and t-shirts are best. Most women wear athletic pants and tops. Men generally wear athletic shorts and t-shirts. It's preferred to take off your socks off when you practice so let them feet breathe and no need for excessive jewelry while you practice either.
Please bring your own yoga mat, a towel, and some water.
If you do not have a yoga mat, we do offer mat rentals for $2. Your first mat rental is free. For the hot classes, since sweat will drip down your legs and onto your yoga mat, we strongly recommend making sure your yoga mat is a non-slip mat. You can also bring a full-length towel or yoga towel to place over your mat for better grip and traction.
We do sell water bottles for $1.50 if you forget to bring some water with you.
We provide all additional props you may need - like blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets but you are always welcome to bring your own props if you feel comfortable doing so.
Yes, both Yoga Dragon locations are spaces to calm the mind. Please be courteous to others by considering the following:
