I started practicing yoga in 2017. I was intrigued with the practice after training in dance for 15 years in Contemporary, Ballet and Jazz. After years of dancing, my body developed several aches and reoccurring injuries, so I decided to try out a yoga class as a way to release many tensions in my joints and muscles. My body immediately fell in love with the movement the practice gave me and quickly my mind fell for it too. After practicing for two years, I decided to take a leap and began a Teacher Training in March of 2019 with Black Swan Yoga. Within that training, I fell deeper in love with yoga after spending time learning more about the physical practice, as well as the practical philosophy of yoga. Yoga to me means more than physically moving your body, it’s an art that allows you to practice self awareness so that we can use the same self awareness off the mat. Aside from my passion of yoga, I am currently studying Human Nutrition in the path of becoming a Registered Dietician at University of Houston and passionately teaching dance in styles of Contemporary and Jazz at Ellie Paige Dance Company.
